Utah Caregiver Support Program
The Caregiver Support program assists family caregivers of individuals with health, mobility, neurological or functional limitations in hopes of enabling them to care for their loved one as long as possible and delay facility placement. There is no income requirement for eligibility.

Eligibility
A family caregiver is an adult family member or another individual (18 years or older) who is an informal (unpaid) provider of in-home and community care to:
- An older individual (60 years or older)
- An individual or any age with Alzheimer's Disease or a related neurological disorder
- The primary caregiver (other than the parent) who lives with and is the informal provider of in-home and community care to a child under the age of 18 because the biological or adoptive parents are unable or unwilling to serve as the primary caregivers of the child.
- The parent, grandparent, or other relative by blood, marriage, or adoption, of an individual who is 18 years or older with a disability.
- Lives with the child who is not more than 18 years of age or who is an adult child between 19 and 59 years of age with a disability. In the situation when it is an adult child with a disability, the caregiver can be the parent.

An intake is required for individuals who would like to receive in-home respite services. A waiting period for services may apply due to limited funding available for these services. Prior to services being provided, one of our staff members will make a home visit to verify eligibility and to further assess needs. Individuals may also be eligible for other programs such as Meals on Wheels or other in-home services programs that we provide.
Fees & Charges
Fees are not charged for this program; however, donations are encouraged.
The respite services listed above may be provided for up to a 12 month period or a maximum of $1,500 in services such as those noted above. Service levels and allowed expenditures are dependent upon caregiver need, the needs of the individual being cared for, and support from others assisting with caregiving activities.
