Tutoring and Literacy
Alpine, Nebo and Wasatch School Districts
Various schools with the Alpine, Nebo and Wasatch School Districts. To promote ease of volunteering, we try to place volunteers in a school that is relatively close to their home. Work one-on-one with students listening to them read, assisting them with reading and math assignments, or other assistance to classroom teacher as needed. Schedules are varied and flexible.
American Fork Library Learning Center
Work one-on-one with students listening to them read and assisting them with skills to reach grade level reading. Volunteers need to commit to two 3-hour sessions a week: 3-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
Pleasant Grove Literacy Center
Work one-on-one with students to improve their reading and writing skills. Center is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Volunteers need to commit to one hour a week.

Companionship
CNS Home Health & Hospice (Utah County)
Assist Community Nursing Services (CNS) with providing compassionate care when a loved one becomes seriously ill, suffers an injury or is nearing the end of life.
Friendly Callers (Summit, Utah and Wasatch Counties)
Call homebound seniors at least once a week for a friendly chat and a check-in at a predetermined time and day. Volunteers need to commit to 6 months of volunteering. Average weekly time commitment ranges from 15 minutes to an hour on the phone. Learn more.

Food Security
Food & Care Coalition of Provo
The Coalition needs volunteers to help the homeless community of Utah County by serving meals on a regular basis.
Meals on Wheels (Summit, Utah & Wasatch counties)
Volunteers use their own vehicle to deliver 8-10 meals once a week to homebound seniors that live local to them. One hour a week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Minimum of a six-month commitment. Valid driver’s license required.
Tabitha's Way (American Fork & Spanish Fork)
Tabitha's Way is a client choice food pantry that needs shopping assistants, warehouse sorters and shelf stocking assistants to maintain a smooth and abundant shopping experience. 3+ hours a week required.

Transportation
Summit County Senior Drivers
Volunteers take homebound seniors to medical appointments and errands within Summit County. Volunteer shifts are flexible.
Utah Valley Rides (Orem and Provo)
Volunteers use a provided van to take homebound seniors for errands and appointments in Provo and Orem. The service is offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Volunteers shifts are flexible.
Wasatch Senior Drivers
Volunteers use a provided van to take seniors from the senior center to various destinations for social and educational trips or to the senior center for lunch. Volunteers shifts are flexible.

Honor Veterans
American Legion Post 72 (Orem)
The Post’s primary mission is to provide for the needs of veterans in the community through visits to the local nursing and care facilities, VA Hospital Christmas store and through the Honor Guard. The post provides military honors for our deceased brothers and sisters. Participation is flexible.
New Friends Quilt Circle (American Fork)
Quilters meet together to share their love of quilting and to learn from each other. Among other humanitarian projects the quilters donate quilts to veterans for the Quilts of Valor lifetime awards. Volunteers meet weekly for several hours.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore (Orem & Park City)
Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world. Volunteers help build homes, staff information or display booths, participate in parades, and other community events and assist with data entry, mailings and other office work. Schedule is flexible.
Mountain View Hospital
Volunteer in following specialties: clerical, emergency department, inpatient surgery, outpatient surgery, medical records, patient care units, and women's center. Schedule is flexible.
Park City Hospital
Multiple volunteer opportunities available to serve in several areas of the hospital. Schedules vary.
Senior Medicare Patrol

Through a variety of venues, events and programs, volunteers help achieve the nonprofit mission to inspire the minds and renew the spirits of young and old by providing unique learning experiences, and family-friendly entertainment. Various volunteer opportunities such as Tour Train Driver, Usher/Tickets, Docent, Public information and assistance, and Master Gardeners. Schedules vary.
Utah State Hospital Quilters
Hand-bind quilts that are brought in by community members. The fee collected for the service is donated to Utah State Hospital for medical supplies or services for patients who can’t afford them. Volunteers meet every Monday from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
