The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program assists low and moderate income individuals and households by creating suitable living environments, providing decent housing, and creating economic opportunities. CDBG funds can be used for local community development activities such as affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, and infrastructure development.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is responsible for the CDBG program. In 2014, Lehi became an Entitlement City and therefore became eligible to apply for CDBG funds.

CDBG Application

All CDBG projects must meet one of three CDBG National Objectives, namely benefit to low- and moderate-income persons, aid in the elimination of slum or blight, or meet an urgent community need (serious natural disaster such as an earthquake, flooding, etc.).

The next application cycle will begin early 2020.

Consolidated Plan

Lehi City is required to have a five-year strategic plan (Consolidated Plan). The plan includes community needs, housing analysis, resource identification, and goals.

Annual Action Plan

Annual Action Plans are submitted to identify annual projects, activities, and expected outcomes that serve to fulfill the goals of the Consolidated Plan.
