MPO Regional Planning Committee

The MPO Regional Planning Committee (MPO RPC) is made up of an elected representative from each municipality in Utah County, Utah County Commissioners, Utah Transportation Commissioner, UTA Board Member and Utah Air Quality Board Member. The MPO RPC is the Metropolitan Planning Organization board. It was established to supervise all regional transportation planning and air quality matters for Utah County. Read the MPO Bylaws here.

The MPO is the forum for cooperative transportation decision-making and is responsible for conducting the continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive planning process, known as the 3-C planning process. The transportation planning activities by the MPO include highway/road, bicycle/pedestrian, transit planning, traffic modeling, air quality, public participation, the linking of transportation and land use, and other governmental coordination.

The Regional Planning Committee reviews and approves the MPO Work Program, Regional Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), air quality policy, and all other urban transportation plans and programs for the urban area. They also direct the regional planning staff functions. The Federal Highway Administration, Utah County Legislative Delegation, and Utah Motor Carriers Association are invited to participate at meetings. The public is always welcome with comment allowed at the beginning of each meeting. The committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at the Utah County Historic Courthouse, 3rd Floor Ballroom, at 5:30 pm unless otherwise noted on the AOG calendar.
