Utah County Council of Governments Accepting Letters of Interest for UTA Board of Trustees Appointment

The current Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Trustee position representing Utah and Tooele counties, held by Kent Millington is set to expire on October 31, 2020.  While there is no limit on the number of  terms a trustee may serve, Utah State Code requires that the Utah County Council of Governments (COG) and the Utah County Commission each send two potential candidates to Governor Herbert and the Tooele County Commission send one potential candidate. Governor Herbert will then select one candidate to fill the UTA Trustee position for the next 4-year term.

The Utah County COG is now accepting letters of interest from potential candidates. Ideal candidates will be highly qualified professionals with such qualities as advanced education, extensive experience in executive level business management, training in large-scale asset management, and expertise in finance, economics, accounting, or law. The trustee position is a full-time paid position and is one of three trustee positions.

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest by August 27, 2020  to Michelle Carroll via email at mcarroll@mountainland.org  The Utah County COG, made up of the three Utah County Commissioners and all of the Mayors within Utah County will meet on September 3, 2020 to vote for the top two candidates to send to Governor Herbert for consideration.
