The Nebo Area Transportation Study area, located in southern Utah County is home to some of the fastest growing cities in Utah. Its proximity to the employment centers of Provo and Orem long with its rural setting and large areas of undeveloped land make the Nebo area a prime
target for explosive population growth. In fact, since 1990, this area of Utah County has increased in population by over 100 percent, and population projections indicate a continuation of this trend. The area transportation network is directly impacted by growth like this and
determining future travel demands is paramount to maintaining the quality of life for which this area is so well known. |

Mountainland MPO Regional Planning Committee...
is the board of the MPO and is comprised of local elected officials in Utah County, Utah County Commission, a commissioner from the Utah Transportation Commission, Utah Transit Authority Board member, and Utah Division of Air Quality Board member. An invitation to the committee meetings is extended to the Federal Highway Administration, Utah County Legislative Delegation, and Utah Motor Carriers Association. The public is always welcome at the meetings. The committee reviews and approves the Unified Planning Work Program, Regional Transportation Plan, Mountainland Transportation Improvement Program, air quality policy, and other transportation documents and plans.

Mountainland Technical & Planner Advisory Committee...
advises and makes recommendations to the Mountainland Regional Planning Committee on technical transportation and land use issues. The committee is comprised of engineers, planners, and technicians who serve as staff to local, state, and federal government. The MPO staff serves as liaison between the advisory and policy committees.

The TIP lists all transportation projects and programs within the urban area of Utah County that are funded with federal transportation funds and regionally significant projects funded with state and local funds.
